Rush Henrietta JR Royal Comets

What to Expect

The Junior Comets Cheerleading program is an opportunity for athletes to learn good sportsmanship, teamwork and the fundamentals of cheerleading.  We have been a well established cheer program in Rush Henrietta for numerous years.  Our coaches are experienced, certified, and focus on the safety and overall well-being for each athlete.

Our focus is on fostering an environment of learning, safety, and providing great role models for our teams.  We work with our local JV and Varsity coaches and cheerleaders to promote the skills our athletes need to continue on with the sport in school as they grow older.

Time Commitment
Our practices begin in August and end between October-November. As a part of the AYFCL league we participate in their cheerleading competition each season as well as 2-4 additional competitions, depending on each season.

Each cheerleader has an obligation to cheer at a weekly football game for their corresponding level.  Cheerleading is a team sport, we know that illnesses come up, but it's imperative for cheerleaders to commit to making it to their team practice.  Without a full team for practice, our teams cannot practice their stunts as often which becomes a safety concern.  Please be sure that you're able to commit to weekly practices when you register your child.

Uniforms and Fees Associated

Uniforms, bows, pants, competition costs, and an annual banquet ticket are provided for each participant by the Junior Comets.  Each cheerleader also needs to purchase 2 white pairs of cheerleading shoes, one for game day and one for competition (which may not be worn outside), a pair of black compression cheer shorts, and a junior comets jacket for game days.
